Northwest Alabama Asset Inventory

The Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments, in conjunction with the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Economic Development Administration, is pleased to present the Northwest Alabama Asset Inventory.  This inventory has identified natural, cultural, and structural assets throughout Northwest Alabama in Winston, Marion, Lauderdale, Franklin, and Colbert Counties.  The inventory will assist citizens and community leaders in identifying strategies for promoting the most valuable assets of the region and understanding ways in which these assets may be developed and marketed.   

• The Asset Inventory and map is designed to be a community resource to be explored and utilized to the benefit of people within the community.

• The inventory and map is the first stage of a strategy designed to attract visitors to Northwest Alabama, encourage new people and businesses to locate in the region, and keep current residents and employers in Northwest Alabama.

• The inventory is available online in Google™ Earth 4.2 providing high quality images in a highly navigable interface.
