Community Planning Assistance

The Code of Alabama allows communities to make, adopt and implement municipal plans.

These plans may include zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, master plans, as well as supplemental regulations such as sign, wireless telecommunication facilities, landscaping and parking ordinances.

The NACOLG Planning Department provides assistance to member governments in the development and implementation of planning projects.

The department also participates in a number of statewide planning initiatives in conjunction with the Alabama Association of Regional Councils and the Alabama Planning Association.
