OF NEED FOR SERVICES
Notice
is hereby given that The Shoals Area Metropolitan Planning
Organization, hosted by the Northwest Alabama Council of Local
Governments (NACOLG), P.O. Box 2603, Muscle Shoals, Alabama
35662 is requesting submittal of interest from all engineering
and transportation planning firms interested in performing work
outlined in the following scope of work relating to the
preparation of an approvable 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan
for the Shoals Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Note:
The Shoals Metropolitan Planning Organization reserves the right
to eliminate or reduce the scope of one or more of the tasks
and/or subtasks. The MPO may also elect to contract separately
for the tasks and subtasks, which will produce a pedestrian and
bicycle plan.
REQUESTED
INFORMATION
Firms
interested in performing the work will be considered on the
basis of information in the files and submittal of the following
in written form (limited to three pages):
-
Statement
of registration of the firm and names and registration
numbers of individuals involved in the project (when
performing professional services). Copy of the certification
in compliance with Code of Alabama 34-11-9, as required by
the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and
Land Surveyors.

Statement
of professional standing including any pending
controversies. If none exist, such statement should be made.
-
Statement
of experience in the fields that the proposed services are
requested and work of similar nature, which the proposed
staff for, requested services were in responsible charge.
Proposed staff names and experience are to be provided.
-
Statement
of availability and adequacy, in both number and quality of
remaining staff, to perform all other functions needed in
the proposed services.
-
List
of qualified personnel in other disciplines required for the
proposed services, both in-house and those to be acquired
from outside sources.
-
Statement
of your overhead; administrative costs, expressed as a
percentage of your direct labor for the last fiscal year.
-
Statement
of your labor additive; fringe benefits, expressed as a
percentage of your direct labor for the last fiscal year. If
your labor additive is included in the overhead calculation,
such statement should be made.

Statement
of your billing rates for engineer and technician.
-
Estimated
man-days by professional, sub professional, and other.
-
Statement
as to whether or not the firm is operating on a sound
financial basis.
-
Statement
of where work will actually be accomplished is to be
described.
-
Statement
of whether or not and when the site has been reviewed prior
to submittal of interest.

Two
copies of your statement of interest are to be identified with
MPO 2030 Long Range Plan and are to be submitted prior to
5:00 p.m. CST on January 16, 2004 to the Shoals Area
