The Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments seeks volunteers for the State Health Insurance Program.  The SHIP program utilizes volunteer counselors to provide senior citizens with information regarding their health insurance options whereby they may make sound decisions for their future care. Volunteers are trained to provide materials and policy comparisons for individuals needing supplemental insurance, providing one-on-one counseling with individuals via phone or site visits and helping to promote this free service throughout Northwest Alabama.
