If your daily routine includes
providing care for an older loved one in your home, support,
information and assistance is available at the local level. The
Coalition of Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders (CARD) is pleased
to announce a free Caregivers Program, scheduled for Wednesday,
July 14 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the A. W. Todd Center in
Russellville, Alabama. Topics of discussion include basic care
issues, assisted living options, nutrition/healthcare, Medicare &
Medicaid, prescription drugs, Hospice services and grief/emotional
issues. In addition to CARD, sponsors include the Northwest
Alabama Council of Local Governments, Sunbridge Nursing &
Rehabilitation Center and the Country Cottage. The program is free
of charge and includes lunch for attendees. However, advanced
registration is required as there are only 300 seats available. To
pre-register, call the CARD office at (256) 766-5726 by July 7,
2004.
