Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (D-ALA) announced today that the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG) will receive a $30,000 grant from the Economic Development Administration to prepare a strategic and marketing plan to help develop the entertainment industry in Northwest Alabama.  NACOLG hopes to outline the necessary stops to create a major entertainment industry in Northwest Alabama.

"The Muscle Shoals" sound is internationally recognized and sought out by some of the most legendary performers in music" said Cramer.  "Recently, there has been a reemergence of the entertainment industry in our area.  The Shoals has done a great deal to form partnerships and bring recognition to the folks in North Alabama who have influenced all types of music and film.  I'm pleased to see the entertainment industry's renewed interest in our area and believe this grant will go a long way in helping Northwest Alabama recapture its place on top of the entertainment industry."
